About
Hi, I'm Jasmeralia (known in the real world as Morgan Blackthorne). I'm a 40ish genderqueer gamer techie, with pronouns of they/them. In my day job, I'm a Lead DevOps Engineer for an international corporation. In my spare time, I like to explore new technologies and ways to leverage AI as a tool to help support areas where I am technically weak, such as front-end web development. (Back-end, that's my forté; front-end... not so much.)
As a gamer, I spent a lot of time on MUDs/MUSHes/MOOs/MUCKs/MUSEs, which led to me getting heavily invested into MMOs. My username Jasmeralia dates back to when I was playing EverQuest 1 and saw a female high elf paladin (Lavondyss, whom later became a guild master of mine in the Circle of Pride guild on The Tribunal server) and I adored the way the plate armor looked like a metal skirt. I created my own, but I was stuck on a name for a bit. Ultimately, I decided to pick two things as the basis of the name: Jasmine (from the Princess in Aladdin) and emeralds. Joining them together turned into Jasmerald, which I then softened to a feminine sounding Jasmeralia. And if you're wondering about the pronunciation, it's JAZZ-mer-AWL-ee-YUH.
Now that I'm no longer playing MMOs (I burned out on the grind and need to coordinate with other players to see a lot of group-only content, such as dungeons and raids), I have primarily been playing RPGs (notably CRPGs) and Visual Novels (mostly the adult kind... I read a lot of romance and erotica, so it only makes sense that I like the sexy stuff in my games, too). While Steam provides a great system for reviews, many AVNs are only available on sites like Itch (or via subscription sites such as Patreon or SubscribeStar), none of which support reviews well. (Technically, Itch has a review feature... but the review is only shown to the developer and not to the public, which I find useless.) In addition, I wanted to both rate and rank the games that I have enjoyed, so I decided to put this site together with support for tier lists.
i'm just getting started with this site, and welcome feedback via my Twitter or Discord (links below).
